Selecting a part with Smart Select

Smart Select (the sparkles tool, keyboard S) is the main way to grab a part: the AI finds the boundaries, you just say which piece.

   Wait for "Parts mapped" after the photo loads (the first analysis takes a few seconds).

   Hover the photo — parts glow as your cursor moves over them.

   Click to take the highlighted part into the active section.

   Use the Fine / Part / Whole pill at the bottom (or press Tab) to grab less or more — Fine takes a small detail, Whole takes the entire connected piece.

   Shift+click adds more area to the selection; Alt/Option+click removes area.

   For something tricky, drag a box around it — the AI segments just that region at higher detail.
