What makes a good part photo

The AI works on almost anything, but photo quality decides how much clean-up you do afterward. Two minutes of staging saves ten of refining.

  1. 1

Plain, contrasting background — a part on a white bench or a light part on dark. Busy backgrounds confuse edges.

  2. 2

Even light, no harsh shadows — shadows read as part edges to the AI.

  3. 3

Fill the frame — the part should be most of the photo, in focus.

  4. 4

Shoot square-on for the truest pattern preview (patterns project onto the photo).

  5. 5

JPG or PNG, any normal phone resolution is plenty.

Dark parts on dark backgrounds are the hardest case — the app auto-boosts contrast, but a lighter background helps more.

Add up to 6 angles of the same part via the photo strip (bottom-left) — one scheme paints them all.
