Sell more coating jobs: the visual proof workflow
Two shops spray identical quality. One sends a text that says 'FDE with black accents, $325.' The other sends a picture of the customer's own part wearing the scheme, next to the price, with an Approve button. The second shop closes faster, upsells more, and almost never hears 'that's not what I pictured' at pickup. The difference is workflow, not talent.
Step 1: One photo at intake
When the customer inquires, ask for a photo of the part — they already have one on their phone. That photo becomes the canvas for everything that follows, and asking for it signals a process worth paying for before you've said a price.
Step 2: Mock up two options, not one
Build the scheme they asked for, then a second version one tier up — the two-tone, the pattern, the battleworn variant. Two mockups take three extra minutes and change the conversation from 'yes or no' to 'which one.' The upgrade option gets picked constantly once it's visible.
Step 3: Send a priced approval link
The proof should carry everything needed to say yes: the mockups, the exact colors with factory codes, line-item pricing, and an Approve button that works on a phone. No account for the customer to create, no PDF attachment to lose — a link they can tap in the parking lot.
Step 4: Deposit on approval
Approval and deposit should be the same moment. When the customer taps Approve, the deposit request is right there — pay now, lock the booth slot. Shops that collect deposits at approval report near-zero abandoned parts.
Step 5: The mockup follows the job
Print the approved scheme on the booth job card with mix ratios and cure schedule, so the spray matches the approval exactly. At pickup, the finished part next to the approved mockup is your best marketing photo — post the pair.
